This media release aims to clear up the rumours that have been circulating in the Northern Territory about the Northern Territory Junior Motocross State Team. The release clarifies that only the MNT “NT State Team” is authorised to represent the Northern Territory.
We want to provide some additional details regarding the selection process for the NT Thunder Team. Motorcycling Northern Territory was not involved in the selection process of the NT Thunder Team and therefore was not consulted during its formulation. This means that the selection process was conducted by a separate entity, and we were not involved in the decisions that were made.
We understand that many junior competitors and parents who were not selected are disappointed, including members of the recently established Alice Springs MX Team, who will attend the championship later this year. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and understand the frustration felt by those who thought they were not included in the Official NT State Team. We want to assure everyone that we are doing our best to ensure fairness and equality in our selection process.
We would like to encourage everyone to take a look at the Selection Policy for the NT State Team. This policy outlines our selection criteria and process, and we hope that it will provide more clarity on how we choose riders for the Official NT State team.
